How a day goes in the house
No clock times after the doors open: each part of the day follows the children.

Arrival and breakfast
Each child comes in with a parent at the door, with time to hug, hang a backpack on its hook and sit down to eat. Miss Nguyet knows which parents have a shift to catch, and she doesn't make them linger.

Lunch is cooked here
Miss Nguyet cooks for everyone: rice and soup, chicken, fish, beans and greens, fruit. On some days it's a Vietnamese dish, on others red beans and rice. She shares each week's menu with families.

Out in the yard
We go out to the fenced yard when the weather allows, with shade, water and hats. In season the children water the herb bed and dig at the mud kitchen. When it's too hot or wet, we play indoors.

Pickup
Every child is handed to someone on your written list, at the door. Miss Nguyet tells you how the day went. If a shift runs long, send a text and she'll plan around it.
